Toberman Neighborhood Center is a non-profit community-based organization committed to assisting Harbor Area families and individuals by delivering life-changing services that encourage, inform, educate and empower them to live healthy and purposeful lives.

Their mission is to "Empower People for a Lifetime and Improve the Quality of Life in our Neighborhoods". In 2013, they served over 7,500 individuals and provided more than 24,500 unique services through three Core Programs:

• Children, Youth and Family Services include Toberman Academy and Leaders in Training after school programming, as well as monthly Family Engagement Programs. The newest Family Learning program is designed by the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL) and sponsored by Toyota, providing a research-based approach to integrated family development.

• FamilySource Center serves more than 2,000 individuals each year with job skills training, financial literacy, legal aid, a food pantry, and much more. At least 265 more clients receive intensive case management services weekly or more often throughout the year.

• Gang Intervention services decrease membership by youth in area gangs as well as youth-involved crimes. Safe passage to and from school insures that the communities’ children are free from harm as they go to and from school each day.
