Bid on themed Gift Baskets to donate to The Food Drive at Oregon State University. All proceeds will be donated to the Linn Benton Food Share.

OSU Food Drive has a long tradition of success. Every year during the month of February the university comes together and plans a wide variety of food and fund-raising activities to help the hungry. Proceeds from the OSU in Corvallis benefit the non-profit agencies served in Linn-Benton Food Share. These agencies include local food pantries, the OSU food pantry, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, daycare centers, and shelter homes in Linn and Benton counties.

Your support helps Linn Benton Food Share provide high-quality food to those in need.

Every dollar donated provides the equivalent of 6 meals at either the food pantry or meal site.

Put another way, $1 = 7.5 pounds of food. A full food box for a family of four typically weighs 100 lbs. Therefore, $13.33 = food for 5+ days for a family of four.

(Note: the dollar/pounds/meals conversion for the statewide competition is $1 = 4 lbs. = 3 meals. Linn Benton Food Share is able to stretch a dollar further than the statewide average.)

• Food box contents include shelf stable fruits, vegetables, soups and meals, peanut butter, tuna or canned meat, flour, cereal, pasta, pasta sauce, various snacks, rice, fresh produce (a large percentage from local farms), eggs, dairy products, fresh milk, frozen meats, vegetables, fruits. It’s quite a variety!
