Methow Valley Nordic Team Auction 2015-16 Season

Welcome to the Methow Valley Nordic Team Auction 2015-2016! We hope to raise $15,000 this year - all going to support the Methow Valley Nordic Team. There are approximately 115 youth skiers involved in our program – almost 20% of the Methow Valley's youth skis! Your support helps to ensure that our program continues – a program that focuses on healthy activities, appreciation for the outdoors, good sportsmanship, teamwork and community building.

Last year we held our first online auction. The auction came about largely because of the devastating fires of 2014, an acknowledgment that our community resources were stretched thin, and a desire to reach beyond the borders of the Methow. The results were overwhelmingly positive. Thank you for your support and participation.

We strive to make Nordic skiing accessible, particularly to youth in the Methow Valley. We are proud to run a junior cross-country and biathlon program that is not only one of the highest-achieving, but also one of the most affordable in the entire country. In addition, we provide a low-cost learn-to-ski program for young children, camps and clinics for beginning to advanced adult skiers, provide need-based scholarships for youth and host a range of events – both competitive and recreational. We are proud to support a vibrant Nordic ski community in the Methow Valley!

Our program focuses on healthy activities, appreciation for the outdoors, good sportsmanship, teamwork, and community building. Since its inception, the Methow Valley Nordic Team has cultivated the athleticism of racers such as Olympians Sadie Bjornsen, Erik Bjornsen, and Brian Gregg, international biathletes Kelsey Dickinson, and Casey Smith, and racer-turned-coach Sam Naney. It has also turned hundreds of regular kids into crackerjack and life-long skiers. Whether kids are passionate about racing or just want to develop the fitness and technique to make Nordic skiing a lifelong sport, the Methow Valley Nordic Team is there to nurture them.
