About Our Auction

Over the years, members of our Farrier Association have made some fantastic artwork that was auctioned off during our Fall Clinic. In 2014, we were able to present these items to the public and give others the opportunity to bid on our blacksmithing works. This turned out to be a great idea as the proceeds were then used to fund educational clinics and demonstrations.

It is important to us as farriers, blacksmiths, and veterinarians to stay informed of new trends and technology in a field that is always changing. Horses are living longer with greater expectations of them. Knowledge of our profession needs to current as we work with owners who are becoming increasingly aware of the needs of their horses.

Our association will continue to further our education in this field that is always seeking increased knowledge and professionalism. On behalf of the Iowa Professional Farriers Association, we thank you for your support.

About Iowa Professional Farriers Association

There was a time when farriers kept information at very close hold and it was very difficult to find someone who was willing to share that information. Thankfully, there were a few Iowa farriers back in the early 80's that not only had and insatiable desire to learn, but and unselfish desire to share what that had learned and experienced that led to the development of the Iowa Professional Farriers Association. IPFA is made up of Farriers, Veterinarians, and horse owners with a 6 member Board of Directors along with 4 officers.

Live Event Information

The Live auction event will be held at the lloyd Veterinary clinic at the Farriers shop where the IPFA is holding their Spring clinic. All items that are being sold in this on-line auction will be up for bid at the live event using bid sheets for each item. If you have a bid on a online item you will receive a email 24 hours before the auction closes and be given an opportunity to give a final bid on your item. When the live auction ends all the amounts will be entered into the system, including your bid and you will receive a email saying if you have won. I would recommend using the proxy bid feature which will enable the system to bid for you if you are outbid. If you would like to bid on a item at the live event please come to ISU's farrier shop in Ames Iowa before the auction closes, noon April 10th.
