About Our Auction

ONE YEAR OF MY WORKING FULL-TIME FOR YOU PERFORMING ACCOUNTING DUTIES

This auction is for year 1 only of my three year goal (approximately June 2013 through May 2014). We would be committing to each other for the full year. 100% of the winning bid amount over $43,950.00 is to be paid directly to Homeward Bound of Asheville. The dollar figure above includes my 2013 estimated minimalist living expenses plus health insurance premiums and a retirement contribution.

Good luck bidding and thank you for your support! If you have any questions or suggestions please contact me.

WHAT DO I HAVE IN MIND AS A MINIMALIST LIFESTYLE?

My goal is to have as high a disposable income as possible during my three year commitment resulting in more going to charity. This means to me – minimalist living expenses, trying to keep my impact on the environment low, keeping all monies in the Asheville community by living and working in Asheville/Buncombe County.

Specific minimalist ideas – unfurnished 1 BR (must be able to walk or take bus to work and shopping), Internet, no cable TV (stream content instead), use Tier 2 cell phone provider (no landline), no eating out, no car (use bus, foot, or bike), no vacations (staycation instead), etc.

WHAT IS MY WORTH IN THE MARKETPLACE?

Assuming my skills are used to their fullest, I estimate an annual salary of $75,000 for 2013 in the Asheville marketplace. This is based on Robert Half’s Salary Guide and applying Greenville’s index number of 90.0 (per a recruiter, the Asheville and Greenville employment markets are similar) from page 25. The salary I would earn depends on the employment sector, the duties I would perform, and the employer’s size as you can see from the guide. Estimated total compensation would be $81,450 for 2013 (I added in employer paid health insurance and employer retirement match.).

A FEW RULES

(1) A minimum 1 year commitment by both of us. A 3 year commitment maximum. Annual increments are to coincide with housing lease terms.

(2) During each year, I will work up to 1,960 hours for you and/or assigns as an employee in Asheville, NC performing legal, accounting duties in any employment sector. I will provide my own health insurance and retirement funding unless we both agree otherwise. My place of work needs to be accessible via bus (see my minimalist lifestyle plans) unless we agree on another plan.

(3) I will take a drug test and submit to a background check (at your expense). I assure you both will be clean.

(4) You agree to respect my wishes to remain anonymous as far as my being behind this fundraising campaign (including this auction). Thank you for respecting my wishes.

(5) We both agree to keep our financial arrangement confidential even after it ends. In my case, I do not want my lower pay to hurt me after this 3 year fundraising goal is over (you know when you are asked what you made in your last position).

(6) You agree to write me a letter of reference at the end of our commitment.
