Peacebuilding Education - Edwin Rosen's Legacy

In memory of the late artist, Edwin Rosen, all of the proceeds from the sale of his work on this auction site will be used for the Genesis Academy for Global Leadership and Genesis Academy Summer Institute's visual art-related programs.

Genesis at the Crossroads, a Chicago-based non-profit organization, created in 1999, works at the nexus of human rights, social justice, the arts and education. We create and implement innovative performance/artistic presentations, arts-integrated education and humanitarian initiatives locally, nationally and globally.

Each summer we bring together a group of youth ages 15-19 from conflict and post-conflict zones including some in the United States. They live and learn together in four areas: heroes and human rights, music and peacebuilding, environmental sustainability and peace journalism.

These four areas will grow into a four-year curriculum for the Genesis Academy for Global Leadership, an international boarding high school that threads the arts throughout an academically-rigorous curriculum to capacity build next-generation leaders in peacebuilding. It is slated to open in 2020.
