Heisman Winner Autographed Football

The Foundation for Dubuque Public Schools is selling a football signed by 12 Heisman Trophy winners, including Dubuque's own Jay Berwanger. The auction opens on August 28th and closes on September 18th.

Jay was the very first Heisman winner in 1935, he is also a graduate of Dubuque Senior High School. The football was donated to FDPS by a member of the Berwanger family during the dedication of the Jay Berwanger statue and Wilbur Dalzell Memorial at Dalzell Field in September 2013.

Proceeds from the auction will support FDPS programs and projects in Dubuque's public schools.

Provides an opportunity to honor and remember past and present educators through the Tribute to Teachers Program.

Supports excellence in school libraries through the Burgart Fund for Educational Excellence.

Supports the School District’s mission of developing world-class learners and citizens of character in a safe and inclusive learning community.
