At the beginning of the month a good friend of ours, Robyn Baldwin, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). With this news, we realized that MS is not something many of us give much thought to. In order to help spread awareness, raise funds for MS research and show Robyn our support, we’ve decided to auction off some shirts.

MS is a debilitating disease of the central nervous system that affects 100’s of Thousands of people, with no known cause.

Robyn Baldwin is an Alpha Female. By day she is a Marketing Manager at Kobo and by morning, noon and night she is a fitness talent & personality. As a former CFL cheerleader and fitness competitor she is now a passionate weightlifter, runner, obstacle course racer, a spinner and a yogi.

She holds a personal trainer & spin instructor certification, is a published fitness model, freelance writer, an author, a FitFluential ambassador, a sponsored athlete with Magnum Nutraceuticals, a contributor for Training & Fitness Magazine and a beginner run coach at BlackToe Running in Toronto. And now she is an MS Warrior. On December 1st she went to the hospital after experiencing numbness/pins and needles on the right side of her body. On December 2nd after a CAT scan and two MRIs she was diagnosed with MS CIS (clinically isolated syndrome) which is used to describe the first episode.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system — the brain and spinal cord. The disease attacks the protective myelin covering of the central nervous system, causing inflammation and often destroying the myelin in patches. In its most common form, MS has well defined attacks followed by complete or partial recovery. The severity of MS, progression and specific symptoms cannot be predicted at the time of diagnosis.

There is so much research to be done on the cause & cure for the disease.
