About Our Auction

This is Denver Justice & Peace Committee's major fundraising event, through which we are hoping to raise $3,000. Your generous donations support our educational programs, awareness campaigns, and solidarity projects with our sisters and brothers throughout Latin America & the Caribbean.

The virtual silent auction is happening in conjunction with our annual DJPC Awards Night on Friday, October 16th. We will present our annual Global Justice and Peace Award to the Consejo Civico de Organizaciones Populares e Indigenas de Honduras founded by indigenous Lenca feminist leader and environmental defender, Berta Caceres, who was killed 4 years ago for her struggle against the construction of the Agua Zarca dam project. COPINH has continued her legacy, demanding justice for Berta in the legal system at the same time that they continue organizing against the dam. We will also be recognizing the work of Isa Villalon and Ruby Tedeschi, two local organizers dedicated to human rights.

The event will feature music by Adolfo Romero, and poetry from both Lu Aya of the Peace Poets and Melissa Cardoza, a Honduran poet.

The event is free, and all are welcome! If you are able, please consider making a tax-deductible donation. Our suggested donation for the event is $20. To register, follow this link: bit.ly/DJPC2020.
