Blythwood Silent Auction - Camps and Experiences

It is that time of year when families are planning for their summer holidays and booking camps for their children. This year, Blythwood is offering you an exclusive Special Edition Auction for Camps and Exciting Experiences to allow you time to plan for your summer. All of the auction items have been generously donated to our school by local businesses, Blythwood School and our school's families.

*As you bid, keep in mind that most camps/ programs list the price of the item but the TRUE VALUE includes HST, a significant savings to you. You're getting a great deal, even if you've met or exceeded the listed value.*

AUCTION DETAILS:
Start date: February 6th at 10:00 am
End date: February 10th at 9:00 pm

Review the notes below on how to create a User ID and how to use this auction site. OR scroll to the bottom and click on VIEW ALL ITEMS to see items if you're already familiar with 32auctions. A User ID is required to preview and bid.

WHAT IS A SILENT AUCTION?
A traditional silent auction is a fundraising technique where people, while at an event, place bids on a sheet of paper that is located beside the item being auctioned off. Like many schools, we are moving away from papered goods and have transitioned to an online auction site. With the use of this website, we can facilitate bidding online to maximize the participation of our school community, while over a longer period of time.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

1. CREATE AN ACCOUNT so You're Ready to Bid
It’s easy! To bid, you must create an account by going to the following link: https://www.32auctions.com/users/new

2. BROWSE ITEMS in the Auction
To keep track of the items you are interested in, click the HEART button and that item will be added to you Watchlist. To view only the items in your Watchlist, click the HEART button on the auction bar.

3. READY TO BID?
Simply view an item, enter your bid amount and click the 'Place My Bid' button.
To view only the items you're winning, click the STAR button on the auction bar.

4. WHAT IF SOMEONE OUTBIDS YOU?
You'll receive an email notification with a link to the item so you can place a new bid.

5. EXTENDED BIDDING - What is This?
If a bid is placed on an item in the final 3 minutes of the auction, the end time for that item will automatically be extended by an additional 3 minutes. This process will repeat until either:

-There are no new bids received during the final 3 minutes OR
-The auction exceeds 30 minutes past the original end time (for our auction that means 9:30 pm)

When an auction item is extended, you will see an Extended Bidding message displayed throughout the auction. There is also a link provided to view all of the extended items. This is to prevent individuals from “losing” their bid in the final few moments of the auction. We want everyone to have an opportunity to fairly bid on an item without losing it in the final few seconds.

PAYMENT
Our payment processor is PayPal. Items can be paid using an existing PayPal Account or using your Credit Card.

WHY IS BLYTHWOOD P.S. RAISING MONEY?

Every 2 years, Blythwood’s Gala Committee and PSA host a themed Gala to raise funds in support of our 400 students. The funds raised give much needed resources to our students and allow us to support our sister school, Sunny View Public School, so that it can provide special education for students with high physical disabilities and health needs.

The money raised helps provide educational experiences that are not funded by the TDSB.

Our Special Edition Auction: Camps and Experiences, is a part of our larger Gala, Havana Nights, which will be held on May 1st. A portion of the money raised from the Camps and Experiences, will go towards our main goal “Constructing the 21st Century Classroom”. This includes iPads to enable documenting learning (grades 1-3), Chromebooks to allow access to Google platforms (gr 4-6), and an enhanced Kindergarten play area to promote exploration and learning.

Thank you for supporting our fundraising initiatives. We cannot meet our goal without your help. Let’s continue to work together to support Blythwood’s mission to maintain excellence in education.
