About Our Auction

Modifying, colouring in, and drawing on shoes has always been a favourite activity of youngsters. Gallery Artisan is releasing the inner child of local artists and designers when the Converse Blank Canvas Project launches on June 21 as part of the Reboot: Function, Fashion and the Sneaker exhibition at Gallery Artisan.

High-profile local creative types have customised twenty pairs of classic Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers, kindly donated by Converse.

The artists and designers, including Gail Sorronda, Judy Watson, and Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan, have been given absolute freedom when it comes to their interpretation of the classic Chucks.

The shoes will be sold by auction on this site during the exhibition period. Artisan has been issued with authority to fundraise on behalf of the Cathy Freeman Foundation and all proceeds generated will go to the Cathy Freeman Foundation to support Indigenous education programs. For more information about the Cathy Freeman Foundation please visit their website http://www.cathyfreemanfoundation.org.au/

We hope you enjoy bidding on these fabulous shoes.
