About Our Auction

Since you believe deeply in our common mission of transforming lives through serving with the local community and teaching sustainable practices, we know you will be interested in supporting this crucial mission through the online auction.

Are you looking for a special handcrafted Christmas present for someone or a unique experience? Peruse the items on our online auction -- many are handmade by artisans in West Virginia or by folks connected to the Farm -- and place competitive bids. Find something cool AND support the Farm.

This online auction transitions to the Bethlehem Farm Benefit event, meaning that when the online auction ends, the bidding isn't quite over. Online bidding ends at midnight (Eastern Time) the day before the event, then bidding transfers from online to in person at the Winter Benefit.

Here's how it works:
1. You enter a "proxy bid" which is the highest bid you're willing to place for the item.
2. If you're the highest bidder you will see your name on the website.
3. The website will bid on your behalf up to your proxy bid.
4. Should your proxy bid still be the highest bid when the online portion ends, a representative will bid on your behalf at the live silent auction until you are the highest bidder according to the bid increment or your proxy bid limit is reached, whichever comes first.
5. Should your bid be the highest at the live auction YOU WIN and Bethlehem Farm will arrange payment, shipping costs, and shipping with you via email.

Please invite your friends and family who might be interested in giving to Bethlehem Farm to look at the online silent auction!

About Bethlehem Farm

Bethlehem Farm is a Catholic Community in Appalachia that transforms lives through service with the local community and the teaching of sustainable practices. We invite volunteers to join us in living the gospel cornerstones of service, prayer, simplicity, and community. Our program "Repairing Homes, Renewing Communities" improves the housing conditions of low-income West Virginians while building community with local residents and national volunteers.

Every year a large portion of our fundraising is derived from our annual Benefit in Chicago. This year we've moved all online (get your tickets at www.bethlehemfarm.net/winterbenefit). And all of our items are available online this year as well!

The proceeds from the Winter Benefit will go toward building the maintenance garage

The new garage/tool barn/wood shop will support the service with the local community aspect of our mission. Having a structure for the proper care and repair of our work site vehicles protected from the weather, and for the effective organization and storage of tools will make us more efficient, effective, and resilient as we extend our reach further into the local community.
