About Our Auction

Dominique Hurley (DH) has been actively fundraising since February, when she received a strong Spirit Call to be a part of the inaugural class at the Vienna Academy of Visionary Arts in Austria. To find out more about that, feel free to visit her crowdfunding site at www.RocketHub.com/projects/22252 (until July 11).

To help reach her $30,000 goal, she has now decided to AUCTION OFF ALL HER ARTWORK with opening bids at or near the cost of materials. She has also decided to share the experience and the abundance with two of her artist friends: Lori Reddy (LR) - www.sogno.ca & Sama Salehian (SS)- www.facebook.com/pages/Sama-Fine-Art/106118149552523 .

This auction has 4 goals:
1) to find homes for over 130 art pieces by August 4th, Dominique's last full weekend in NL;
2) to raise funds to help Dominique finance her studies in Austria and her return to NL;
3) to help two of her friends with their financial / artistic goals;
4) to thank our fans for their previous purchases and ongoing appreciation by providing this win-win opportunity to own our artwork at incredible prices.

You can see some of our artwork live during our group art exhibition "THE HIP TRIPTYCH", which runs from June 24th - August 3rd at The Sprout Restaurant, 364 Duckworth St., St. John's, NL (closed Sundays). http://thesproutrestaurant.com/

You can also view Dominique's art in person on the 2nd floor of EBB & FLOW Boutique (166 Water St.), WHOLE HEALTH (304 Water St.), THE NATURAL HEALTH SHOP (16 Stavanger Dr.), SHAKTI YOGA (286 Torbay Rd. in Coaker's Plaza), and QEII Library at MUN (2 pieces) in St. John's, NL. Everything you'll see is part of the auction! You'll find the viewing location and pick-up times of all auction pieces in each of their descriptions.

DOMINIQUE HURLEY (DH):
"To all those who have purchased my artwork in the past - thank you! - may this be an added bonus and an opportunity for you to add to your collection. For all those who have enjoyed, but could not afford it, here's your chance!

My life purpose is to explore and express my love of beauty and the beauty of love. My artwork is part of a growing movement called "Energism" - art that helps connect to the universal energy flow. It is as much about the creative process as the final results, reflecting the dance of Spirit within Nature and the Self - energies that illuminate, transform, move, and lead to reflection. My mixed media paintings are rich in vibrant colours, textures, and spiritual symbolism, often incorporating my photography and gemstones. My photography transmits impressions and expressions of the Life Force inherent in beauty.

I have a Certificate of Art & Design (SK), two Certificates of Professional Photography (NY, BC), and a Masters in Education (AB) and am a juried member of the Craft Council of Newfoundland & Labrador. My art has been featured in many solo and group exhibitions. In September 2013, I will be studying drawing, sacred geometry, and the channeling of artistic visions at the Vienna Academy of Visionary Arts in Austria.

LORI REDDY (LR):
As I dream, I capture some of the highlights on canvas and paper as I feel inspired and moved to do so. My paintings are often bold and expressive, using an array of bright colors in the acrylic medium, sometimes incorporating other textures to enhance the richness of my work. My energy may be seen in my work through my brush strokes –whether they be long and ever flowing, or short and abrupt.

I hold a B.A in Psychology from St. Francis Xavier University (NS) and an Applied I.T. Diploma from Information Technology Institute (NS). Originally from Torbay, my ambition and zest for life brought me to New York City where I gained specific experience in IT, financial services, and publishing. The whirlwind that is New York set the backdrop for my immense energy and creativity. Leaving my mark on the corporate world by day, I made an impact in the art community at night through my art showings, musical performances with 2 local bands (playing flute), and hula-hoop making and hoop dance teaching, under my alter ego Hoopalupa. I returned to Newfoundland in 2010 and now continue to paint, play, and hoop dance here in St. John’s.

SAMA SALEHIAN (SS):
I am touched by all I see: the world is filled with ideas that fill my soul and my paintings. Each piece holds within it a story that has emerged from the colours of my being, my environment, and the messages I receive from the Universe as I paint.

Born in Iran, I came to Canada in January 2012. Before that, I received a Degree in Architecture from the Central Tehran Azad University, a Certificate in Painting and in Persian Miniatures, as well as a Certificate in calligraphy. I was the owner/sole artist at the Harmony Gallery in Tehran and instructed art for 10 years at Fereydoon Art Institute in Hamedan.
