CISV Saskatoon is hosting an international CISV Step Up in 2015. Step Ups are international camps for 14/15-year-old youth (usually 36 of them from 9 different countries). CISV's Step Up programme encourages young people to take a leading role in planning and organizing activities. The participants and their adult leaders use CISV's peace education to guide the theme of the camp around which they plan activities, such as identity, democracy, or environmental protection.

Taking part in Step Up gives youth the amazing opportunity to learn about important issues that affect us all and how they are thought about and dealt with in different countries and cultures. Youth will think about how they will take their new knowledge and leadership skills and make active use of them in their school or community. Just as importantly, they will have fun and make new and lasting friendships.

The chapter must cover all the costs to host the Step Up. Besides 36 children, the Step Up also comprises of 9 volunteer leaders, and 5 volunteer staff, including a Step Up Director. The chapter anticipates needing over $50,000 to host the Step Up. The funds are used to provide food and cooking, accommodation, transportation, and materials for programming for 50 people for 23 days.

This auction is to help the chapter raise the funds they need to host the 2015 Step Up. From the bottom of our volunteer hearts, thank you! By supporting our online silent auctions, you become one of our many heroes!

FOR LAST MINUTE BIDDING: This auction provides a 30 minute window at the end of the auction to minimize swiping (a last moment bid to swipe an item).
