About Zacharys-Shine-Bright-Fund

Zachary was the shining light of our family. He was 15 years old, and as many of you know he was an extremely happy young man! We all cherished every moment we had with him over the years because the doctors could never seem to explain how he was able to do the things he could do. See, we were told that he was “not compatible with life” as an infant in the NICU.
Then we nearly lost him 5 years later in the PICU at Niswongers Children’s Hospital.

Zachary spent time here and there in that hospital over the next several years. Sometimes it wasn’t clear if he would pull through, but he always bounced back! Needless to say, he showed the doctors & specialist just how strong he was for 15 years as he lived his life as the happiest  little guy that smiled where others would have cried. He began to battle kidney stones on a regular basis for the past couple of years, sometimes passing more than 30-40 stones in the span of just a day or two. Watching him go through that much pain was unbearable at times, but his momma did everything she could to make him comfortable as he battled the pain.

He was a warrior!!  Often times he would smile through the pain. His smile was infectious, and it reached millions around the country through the posts his mommy and our family would share over social media. Without saying a word, Zachary was able to touch the hearts of hundreds of people that had never even met him in person! We call that God’s work, and he did it well!

Zachary was called home on the morning of August 21, 2018. As he had completed the work God laid out for him, his job here on Earth was done and he passed away peacefully in his sleep. We were not ready to let him go, and we miss him terribly! His family is grieving the loss of our shining light. I ask that you please pray for our family, Especially for his parents & siblings as they try to figure out what life will be for them now that Zachary is in Heaven.
